The Thompson Soccer Association (TSA) was established in the Fall of 1985 to offer levels of play not offered by the City of Loveland Parks and Recreation program. The first season began with two U-19 girls recreational teams; the club grew from there. By 1989, the club was fielding boys and girls teams in the U-14, U-16 and U-19 age groups. The Fall of 1989 saw our first competitive team, a U-16 boys team. The following season, we fielded a U-11/12 boys team, which broke off into two separate teams the following season. Affiliated with the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association (CSYSA), we currently field about 24 competitive teams, which play in virtually all levels of competition from Challenge to Premier.
The name Thompson Soccer was selected to encompass the communities of Estes Park, Loveland and Berthoud, all which are associated with the Big and Little Thompson rivers. Several years later, a number of Windsor parents/players asked if they could add teams to our club since there was no advanced or competitive programs being offered in their community. Over the years, TSA has fielded teams from all four of these communities. The competitive program name, Club United, was selected specifically to indicate a united club serving several different communities.
